TON

The TON instruction starts from 0 and counts up to a WORD value, v. The time is saved in a timer data register, t. If the instruction deenergizes, the value of TC is reset to 0.

Ladder Diagram Example

When M0.0 is powered ON, the data register TC.1 counts up to 100.

When the value of the data register TC.1 is 100, the timer contact, T.1, powers ON.
As a result, the coil Y1.0 is energized.

When the contact M0.1 is powered ON, the timer contact T.1 is reset.
The value of the data register TC.1 is reset to 0 and begins counts up to 100 again.

This is the result of the data register TC.1 counting up to 100.

This is the result of the timer contact T.1 once the value of TC.1 is 100.
