Xpanel Settings Tables

Runtime Settings

ItemDescription
Frame MonitorOpens the Frame Monitor window to monitor I/O devices connected to the Xpanel.
System LogOpens the System Log window to view previous actions that occurred on the Xpanel.
Open NotificationsOpens the Notifications window to display all notifications that occurred.
SettingsOpens the Settings window to control the Xpanel settings.
AboutOpens the About settings to view the Canvas Viewer version and software acknowledgements.

Frame Monitor

ItemDescription
StartStarts monitoring I/O device communication.
StopStops monitoring I/O device communication.
ClearClear the monitoring information.
Device NameMonitors the selected device.
Hex/ASCIIDisplays packet information in Hexadecimal or ASCII.

System Log

ItemDescription
TimestampThe date and time when the action occurred.
MessageThe action that occurred.

Open Notifications

ItemDescription
TimestampThe date and time when the notification was sent.
NotificationThe notification message that was sent.

User SettingsOpens the User Settings window.
HomeOpens the home settings menu.
ExitExits the settings menu and returns to the project.

User Settings

ItemDescription

This cannot be recovered if lost.

Device
ItemDescription
Host NameDisplays the hostname of the Xpanel as it will appear on the network.
Product NameDisplays the part name of the Xpanel.
Xpanel VersionDisplays the current Xpanel and Canvas Viewer version of the Xpanel.
OS VersionDisplays the current operating system version of the Xpanel.
Kernel VersionDisplays the current kernel version of the Xpanel.
System TimeDisplays the current date and time of the Xpanel.
System Metrics
ItemDescription
CPUExpands information about the CPU on the Xpanel.
MemoryExpands information about the memory on the Xpanel.
NetworkExpands information about the network the Xpanel is connected to.

ItemDescription
Average CPU UsageDisplays the total amount of CPU usage each core is using.
Memory
ItemDescription
RAMDisplays the total usage and free space remaining for the RAM.
Local StorageDisplays the total usage and free space remaining for the local storage.
Network
ItemDescription
Ethernet 1Displays the transmission and reception speed for the first Ethernet port.
Ethernet 2Displays the transmission and reception speed for the second Ethernet port (if applicable).

ItemDescription

Language

Touch BeepEnables/disables the static buzzer beeping noise when the screen is pressed.
AudioEnables/disables audio output from the audio jack on the Xpanel (if applicable).
Volume SliderAdjusts the volume of the audio output.

Dark ModeEnables/disables dark mode for the settings menu.
BrightnessAdjust the brightness of the Xpanel screen.
Touch Calibration
ItemDescription
Check Touch PrecisionRuns a test program to track the precision of each screen press.
Touch CalibrationRuns a program to reset the touch calibration of the screen.
Screen Saver
ItemDescription
Auto DimmingEnables/disables the Xpanel screen's dimming feature.
Delay (sec)The time, in seconds, before the Xpanel screen dims.
Auto SleepEnables/disables the Xpanel screen's sleep feature.
Delay (min)The time, in minutes, before the Xpanel sleeps.
Screen Orientation

StandardOrients the screen at 0° (landscape).
90°Orients the screen at 90° (portrait).
180°Orients the screen at 180° (landscape).
270°Orients the screen at 270° (portrait).
ApplyApplies the screen orientation settings.

ItemDescription
Enable RDP/VNC ServerEnables/disables RDP or VNC on the applicable Xpanel.
Change PasswordChanges the password for RDP or VNC login.

FTP Server Setup

Enable FTP ServerEnables/disables the FTP server on the Xpanel.
Change PasswordChanges the password for FTP login.
Default username: ftp

Write AccessEnables/disables write access for FTP on the Xpanel.
Allow USB AccessEnables/disables USB access for FTP on the Xpanel.
Allow SD AccessEnables/disables SD access for FTP on the Xpanel.
Allow Local AccessEnables/disables local storage access for FTP on the Xpanel.

Network Settings

Name ServerOpens the Name Server tab.

Name Server
ItemDescription
Host NameThe name the of the Xpanel as it appears on the network.
Primary DNSThe primary DNS address.
Secondary DNSThe secondary DNS address.
IP Config
ItemDescription
Address TypeSelect between a static IP address or DHCP from the network.
IP AddressIf Static is selected, the IP address of the current Ethernet port.
Subnet MaskIf Static is selected, the subnet mask of the current Ethernet port.
GatewayIf Static is selected, the gateway address of the current Ethernet port.
MAC AddressThe MAC address of the Ethernet port.
Bridge Service
ItemDescription
Enable Bridge ServiceEnables/disables bridge service.
This setting forces both Ethernet ports to share the same IP address (if applicable).
It takes about 30 seconds to enable bridge service.

System Settings

Watchdog TimerOpens the Watchdog Timer tab.

System Time
ItemDescription
Current System TimeDisplays the current date, time, and timezone on the Xpanel.
Change TimeManually enter the time.
Set TimezoneManually select the timezone.
24-hour TimeEnables/disables 24-hour time.
When disabled, the Xpanel time functions on 12-hour time.
Daylight Saving TimeEnables/disables daylight saving time calculation.
Automatic SyncEnables/disables automatic syncing of the Xpanel and an available network time protocol (NTP) server.
NTP ServerDefines a network time protocol (NTP) server to sync with.
One Time SyncManually sync the Xpanel with the network time protocol (NTP) server.
Device Update
ItemDescription
Detected DeviceDisplays the current extended storage device plugged into the Xpanel.
Select Update FileDisplays the update files.
Enabled after selecting the extended storage device.

Application UpdateUpdates the Xpanel and Canvas Viewer version using an applicable .bin file.
System UpdateUpdates the Xpanel operating system using an applicable .swu file.
Confirm Update
ItemDescription
Target PackageDisplays the version the Xpanel will update to.
Current VersionDisplays the current version of the Xpanel.
TypeDisplays the type of update to attempt.
Export current project to USB/SDExports the current .cnvs project on the Xpanel to the extended storage device.
Import converted project to deviceImports the current .cnvs project on the extended storage device to the Xpanel.
Wipe current settings and dataResets the saved settings and data on the Xpanel.
Watchdog Timer
ItemDescription
Enable Watchdog TimerEnables/disables the internal watchdog timer on the Xpanel.
Delay (sec)The time, in seconds, before the control center restarts the project.
Comm. Startup Delay Timer
ItemDescription
Enable Comm. Startup Delay TimerEnables/disables the communication start up delay timer.
Delay (sec)The time, in seconds, before the Xpanel runtime starts.
Reset & Recovery
ItemDescription
Restart DeviceManually restarts the Xpanel.
Restore Factory SettingsRestores the Xpanel to default factory settings.

Enable Project TransferEnables/disables project transfer between the Xpanel and computer or extended storage device.
Detected DeviceDisplays the current extended storage device plugged into the Xpanel.

Xpanel → External DeviceTransfers the current .cnvs project on the Xpanel to the extended storage.

Auto Logout

Auto LogoutEnables/disables the automatic logout feature.
Timeout (hour : min)The time, in hours and minutes, before the currently logged in user is logged out.
ResetResets any changes made to the Auto Logout tab.
ApplyApplies any changes made to the Auto Logout tab.
